Abstract

Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is a common nerve entrapment disease that significantly impacts patients' quality of life. Imaging techniques play a pivotal role in the diagnosis, treatment, and research of CTS. This review details the epidemiology and pathological mechanism of CTS, along with the clinical applications of three key imaging modalities: ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and computed tomography (CT). Additionally, it offers an outlook on the potential applications of emerging imaging technologies, the evolving trend of multidisciplinary collaboration, and the development direction of personalized and precision medicine.

Key words: Carpal tunnel syndrome; Ultrasound; Magnetic resonance imaging; Computed tomography; Precision medicine
