Abstract

The translation of intangible cultural heritage elements in the decoration design of contemporary homestays is a key path to realize the integration of cultural inheritance and spatial characteristics. By deconstructing and reconstructing intangible cultural heritage resources such as traditional techniques, symbolic patterns, and material textures, homestay decorations can be endowed with distinct cultural recognition. In the process of translation, it is necessary to balance authenticity and modernity, retaining the spiritual core of intangible cultural heritage while adapting to the living needs and aesthetic trends of homestays through methods such as simplifying forms, innovating materials, and integrating functions. This kind of translation can not only enhance the cultural added value of homestays, strengthen tourists' sense of experience and identity, but also provide a sustainable practical carrier for the living inheritance of intangible cultural heritage, promoting in-depth dialogue between tradition and the contemporary era.
