本文以社会文化理论为基础,以某医学院校医学相关类专业本科大一两个班的72名学生为研究对象,运用定量研究与定性研究相结合的研究方法研究了医学院校大学英语课堂小组互动中的同伴支架。研究发现,(1)同伴支架普遍存在于小组讨论互动中。(2)同伴支架的作用主要表现在纠正错误表达、提供词汇、提供观点、简化任务、提高参与度、维持既定目标、提供情感支持等七个方面。(3)学生自身外语水平有限,在为同伴提供学习帮助时,可能存在不当之处,小组讨论需要教师的检查引导。研究表明,总体来看,同伴支架对学生的外语水平的提高有促进作用。
From sociocultural perspective, this paper takes 72 first-year students from two classes of medical majors in a medical university as the research objects, and uses a combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods to study the peer scaffolding in the interaction of topic discussion groups in college English classes in a medical university. The study found that (1) Peer scaffolding existed in group discussion interactions. (2) The role of peer scaffolding is mainly manifested in seven aspects: correcting wrong usages, providing words and phrases, providing viewpoints, explaining to simplify tasks, improving participation, maintaining tasks, and frustration control. (3) Due to their limited foreign language proficiency, students may provide inappropriate scaffolding to their peers during the learning process, so group discussions need the teacher's inspection and guidance. The study shows that peer scaffolding facilitates the improvement of students' foreign language proficiency.
